An International battle is promised at the London Classic Car Show next month as 10 cars each from Six Nations go head to head on The Grand Avenue.
A list of the first 30 of the 60 cars representing America, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Japan has been announced. Visitors to the show at London’s ExCel from 18-21 February will select the winning team in the Six Nations shoot-out.
Among the cars representing America is a Cadillac Coupe Series 62 and a Ford Thunderbird. France’s selection to date is a Peugeot 205 T16 road car, a Peugeot 405 T16 Pike’s Peak car, and a mid-engined Renault 5 Turbo.
Representing Germany is an Audi Quattro, BMW CSL Batmobile, BMW M1, BMW 327, Mercedes 190SL, Porsche 356, and Porsche 911 Carrera RS.
British entries include an AC Ace, Aston Martin Lagonda, Bentley 3-litre, Jaguar E-type, Jensen Interceptor, Lotus Espirit, and Mini Cooper S.
Italian choices so far include a Ferrari 250 Lusso, Ferrari 275 GTB, a blue Ferrari F40, Fiat Dino Spyder, Fiat 500D, Lamborghini Countach, Lamborghini Miura (as seen in The Italian Job), Lancia Aurelia, and Lancia Integrale Evo2 road car,
Representing Japan are a Datsun 240Zm, 1972 Nissan Skyline GT-R, Subaru Impreza WRC (Colin McRae RAC winning car), Toyota 2000GT, and Toyota Sports 800.
‘The Six Nations on The Grand Avenue started as a bit of fun, but as we have been curating each nation’s representatives it has developed more of a serious edge, says show director Bas Bungish.
‘Each country has some serious metal ready to uphold their national pride so it’s really hard to decide which one might come out on top by the time the show closes. Ultimately the decision lies with the visitors to the show. the result will be fascinating.’
